An attempted murder investigation has been launched into a Jan. 12 shooting that sent a man to hospital with head injuries.The Haldimand OPP major crime unit, under the direction of Det. Insp. Randy Gaynor, is helping Six Nations police with the investigation, the OPP announced Wednesday.The investigation began when Six Nations police were called at about 4:15 a.m.. on Jan. 12 and told a 22-year-old man who had been dropped off at a Sixth Line Road home was bleeding and was being driven to hospital.Police later stopped a vehicle carrying the man, who appeared to have slash wounds to his head. He was conscious but appeared intoxicated and confused, Six Nations police said in a Jan. 14 news release.The man was taken by ambulance to Hamilton General Hospital, where he regained consciousness and was listed in stable condition.Doctors determined the man had been shot in the head, police said.At that time, investigators believed the victim had been involved in an altercation outside of Brando’s Bar in Brantford.OPP Const.
