Health benefits of avocado

first_imgAvocado, also known as Alligator pear, is a large, green, egg-shaped fruit with a rich buttery flavour. Avocados taste great and have health benefits. Try it because avocados contribute to the prevention and control of Alzheimer’s, cancer, heart disease, diabetes and other disorders.Fat: Not all fat is bad for you. Avocado has mono-unsaturated fat, which is considered good fat. Consuming this type of fat can lower bad cholesterol levels and raise good cholesterol levels. Mash and spread some avocado on a sandwich instead of using mayonnaise or butter.Fiber: Avocados contain both insoluble and soluble fiber. Insoluble fiber is an excellent way to keep your bowels moving (“cleaned out”). This prevents constipation and reduces the chance of colorectal cancer. Soluble fiber is great for appetite control. It has the effect of making a person feel full longer.Vitamins: Avocado contains vitamin B, E and K. Vitamin B helps the body obtain energy from food. It also helps in formation of red blood cells which carry oxygen. Vitamin K plays a fundamental role in the formation of healthy bones and maintaining bone density in later life. Vitamin E is an antioxidant. Antioxidants protect cells and DNA from damage. They prevent heart disease, stroke, cancer and cataracts. Avocado is a nutritious fruit.
