On April 20th, Jam In The Van took their show on the road, trekking up to Ventura, California in the “Jam Van” and setting up shop on the street in front of The Majestic Theater for a long-awaited session with Chris Robinson Brotherhood ahead of their performance at The Majestic later that night. As Jam In The Van writes in the session description on their website, “We’ve been trying to make this session happen for years, so when we saw The Chris Robinson Brotherhood was playing on 4/20 in Ventura, CA at The Majestic Theater we opted to do something we haven’t done in a while, drive The Van to them and park it on the street right outside the venue. When we first started Jam in the Van that was just how we operated things, every week a new venue, new street, new parking lot… hoping the cops wouldn’t show up and kill the heady. As you can imagine it was pretty stressful, now we usually just have the bands come to us wherever we are at… but I have to admit it was pretty fun doing things the old fashioned way again, especially when you are doing it with The Chris Robinson Brotherhood.”The band played through three tunes, including the recently-debuted “Behold the Seer,” the rippling future-honky-tonk “Sweet Sweet Lullaby” off 2016 EP If You Lived Here, You Would Be Home By Now, and, appropriately, “California Hymn,” from their full-length 2016 project, Any Way You Love, We Know How You Feel. You can watch all three videos from the highly anticipated Chris Robinson Brotherhood Jam In The Van session below:“Behold the Seer” “California Hymn” “Sweet Sweet Lullaby” The Chris Robinson Brotherhood has a new studio album, Barefoot In The Head, due out later this year. Next week, Chris Robinson Brotherhood will join Gov’t Mule for a performance at Central Park Summer Stage (5/7/17).
