Short term rentals to resume to Palm Beach County

first_imgNow that the rate of coronavirus infections has gone down significantly, authorities in Palm Beach County have decided to allow the use of short term rentals to resume.Mayor Dave Kerner made the announcement stating that businesses such as Airbnb and VRBO can began allowing bookings again in the Palm Beach County area. The county originally suspended the use of rentals shorter than 30 days in March due to rising cases of  COVID- 19. The plan was to allow rentals to resume in June under the Phase One reopening plan, however, those plans were delayed due to the sharp spike in cases in June.Though renters will now be allowed to garner customers, they will only be able to do so under the county’s safety plan which bans large gatherings and requires properties to submit a bi-monthly report of rentals to the Tourist Development Office. Those found in violation of the rules will be subjected to a fine of up to $250 per day.According to reports, the COVID Education and Compliance team will be responsible for enforcing the county’s rules against large gatherings.last_img read more
